The noted Keyboard Festival opens in Kalamazoo, Mich., with a Prelude Concert on Sun., Apr. 13 and continues through Wed., May 13, with performances in Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, Zeeland, Albion, Three Rivers & Vicksburg.

The International Piano Awards for 2007, issued by the British publication International Piano, have recognized The Gilmore's commissioned "13 Ways of Looking at the Goldberg—New Variations on the Goldberg Theme for Solo Piano" published by C.F. Peters as the winner in their Best Sheet Music—New Work Category for 2007. "This remarkable collection of new piano pieces draw their inspiration from Bach's work of genius...."

Ingrid Fliter, 2006 Gilmore Artist, continues to delight audiences, most recently in her San Francisco Symphony debut, which Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle called "exquisite."

Kosman continues in his review of Fliter's performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, Roberto Abbado conducting, "Fliter did it all, in a performance full of fire and tenderness..."

2008 Gilmore Festival Lineup Announced

The lineup for the 2008 Gilmore Festival has been announced. The spring of 2008 will bring 20 music-filled days to Kalamazoo and cities across West Michigan. The Festival warms up with a Prelude Recital on Sun., April 13 by Richard Goode, "officially" opens on April 24th with Adam Golka joining the Grand Rapids Symphony, David Lockington, conductor, and concludes on May 13 wtih Mitsuko Uchida and friends in a chamber music setting....

2008 GIlmore Young Artists Named

Rachel Kudo and Adam Golka are the recipients of the 2008 Gilmore Young Artist Award, announced Daniel R. Gustin, Director of the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival. In addition to a $15,000 cash award for their career and educational development, each artist will also perform several times during the 2008 Gilmore Festival, April 24-May 13.
